For EMDR therapists

The EMDR protocol, notes, and the SUD score — in one place.

EMOTIS supports EMDR therapists: the TICES protocol, the SUD distress score and VoC validity-of-cognition score, a reprocessing log, a target list — encrypted and GDPR-compliant.

✦ What you get

Everything you need for EMDR work.

The protocol is ready before the session

The SUD distress score and VoC validity-of-cognition score are always within reach — fill them in together with the client, and dictate or type your reprocessing notes as you go. Nothing slips away, even in the more intense moments of a session.

Only you see what happened in the room

Notes from the EMDR protocol are encrypted, and only you can reach them, once logged into your own account. What happens in the room stays between you and your client.

The client arrives already prepared

Screening questionnaires such as PHQ-9 or GAD-7 get filled out before the appointment — through a text link, nothing to install. You walk into the session with results already there to discuss.

Support between sessions

A Stanley-Brown safety plan is available to your client in their portal around the clock. When they need support between appointments, they know where to turn — and you can rest easier.

EMDR session notes without the after-hours rewrite

After an intense reprocessing session, the last thing you need is an hour at the keyboard. Dictate your notes right after the client leaves — the system writes them into a SOAP or DAP structure, ready to sign. The SUD distress score and VoC validity-of-cognition score go in as you work through the session, and the whole protocol stays in one place, no separate sheets, no drawer to dig through.

Your client's data stays in Europe

Everything is stored exclusively within the European Union, under GDPR. Clinical notes are encrypted before they're written to the database, and only you can reach their content, once logged into your own account. This isn't a policy on paper — it's protection that actually holds.

Questionnaires your client fills out — not you

PHQ-9, GAD-7 and other screening questionnaires from our test library — the client gets a text link before the appointment and fills it out on their phone, no registration, no app to download. By the time you sit down for the session, the results are already there. More time for the conversation, less for administration — and a clearer picture of how your client is doing between visits.

Questions & answers

Got questions? We've got answers.

Can I run the EMDR protocol directly in the system, or is this just notes after the fact?

You run the EMDR protocol live during the session — the SUD distress score and VoC validity-of-cognition score are updated as you go, and the system keeps the reprocessing history for each target. You can add notes by voice right after the session so nothing is lost from memory.

What do the SUD and VoC scores actually mean in the system?

SUD (Subjective Units of Distress) is a distress score on a 0-10 scale — the client rates how intense the tension around a target feels. VoC (Validity of Cognition) is a validity-of-cognition score on a 1-7 scale — it shows how much the client believes a positive belief about themselves. You enter both together with the client as you go, within the TICES protocol (Trigger, Image, Cognition, Emotion, Sensation).

How is my clients' data kept secure?

Clinical notes are encrypted at the field level, before anything is written to the database. Data is stored exclusively within the European Union. Only you can reach the content of your sessions, once logged into your own account.

Does the client need to install an app to use the portal?

No, nothing to install. The client gets a link by text or email and opens the portal directly in their phone browser. It also works on a computer — wherever the client feels most comfortable.

Is EMOTIS built for a solo therapist, or only for group practices?

EMOTIS is designed first and foremost for therapists working on their own — no receptionist, no assistant, no administrative back office. It also supports small practices and group settings, if you ever decide to grow.

What happens to my data if I decide to leave?

Your data is always yours. You can export the full history of your clients and notes at any time, as a single downloadable file. Once an account is closed, data is permanently deleted from our systems in line with GDPR requirements.

Is a screening questionnaire filled out before a session a diagnosis?

No. Screening questionnaires help gather context before the session, but they don't make a diagnosis and don't replace your clinical judgment as an EMDR therapist.
